OTRS 3.2.7 Running the web installer



1. For OTRS web installation you need to have MySQL database root password and  have an understanding of your current mail routing.
When you run http://localhost/otrs/installer.pl in browser ( I ran it in Mozilla Firefox),  you will get welcome screen with website, Email and contact information of  OTRS.
Click Next to proceed further.


2. License: Read and accept the GNU Affero General Public License  


3. Database configuration: Enter root password that you set earlier during MySQL server installation.


        
4.  You will get default settings for user, password and database name. (I got default User: otrs, password:hot, and Database Name: otrs)
    you can change User, password and database name, I just change password. 
    Click Next
 



5. Database setup successfully completed, click Next.


 6.  General Specification and Mail Settings: Enter correct FQDN and email address of the system administrator.

Click Next.




7. If you have configured local sendmail server use localhost for outbound SMTP host.
I have configured my personal account for the same. Enter details according to your needs and click the "Check mail configuration" button.

If all field are correct you will get message "Mail Check Successful"

 8. Register your OTRS installation, or skip it to complete the installation process without registering. 

 9. Congratulations, OTRS 3.2.7 is installed. 

   I got default username: root@localhost and password: root
